CBSE 2026 Board Exams Start Today: Important Instructions and Exam Schedule
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence the Class 10 (Secondary) and Class 12 (Senior Secondary) Board Examinations 2026 from February 17, 2026. The examinations will be conducted in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across designated centres in India and abroad.
Students are advised to carefully read and strictly follow the instructions mentioned on their CBSE admit cards to ensure a smooth examination experience.
Examination Schedule – Day 1
- Class 10:
The first examination will be Mathematics (Basic and Standard). - Class 12:
The first set of examinations includes Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Shorthand, and English and Hindi papers.
Important Guidelines for Students
To maintain uniformity and fairness in the examination process, CBSE has issued the following guidelines:
- Students must carry their admit card and valid school ID to the examination centre.
- Only blue or royal blue ballpoint pens should be used for writing the examination.
- Candidates are permitted to carry a transparent water bottle.
- Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators (unless specifically allowed), and other communication devices are strictly prohibited.
- Students should reach the examination centre well before the reporting time to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Examination 2026: Preparation Tips
With Mathematics being the first paper for Class 10 students, the Board and academic experts recommend the following last-minute preparation strategies:
- Revise important formulas, theorems, and key concepts.
- Solve previous years’ question papers and sample papers for time management practice.
- Carefully read each question during the examination and attempt easier sections first.
- Maintain neat and step-wise presentation to secure maximum marks.
- Avoid unnecessary stress and ensure adequate rest before the examination.
Examination Scale and Participation
As per official data released by CBSE:
- 18,57,479 students are registered for the Class 12 Board Examinations 2026.
- More than 1 crore answer booklets will be evaluated.
- The examinations will cover 120 subjects across various streams.
