New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key and candidate response sheets for JEE Main 2026 (January session) Paper 2 for B.Arch and B.Planning. Candidates can now check the official answers, compare them with their recorded responses, and estimate their probable scores.

The answer key and response sheets are available on the official JEE Main website. To access them, candidates need to log in using their application number and password/date of birth.

How Candidates Can Use the Answer Key

With the provisional key now out, students can:

  • Match their marked answers with the official responses
  • Calculate their tentative score using the prescribed marking scheme
  • Identify any questions they believe may have incorrect answers

This step helps candidates get an early sense of their performance before the final results are declared.

Objection Window Open for Challenges

Candidates who find discrepancies in the provisional answer key can raise objections online within the stipulated timeline mentioned on the official portal. Each challenge must be submitted with supporting justification and the applicable processing fee per question.

Once the objection window closes, the NTA will review all challenges with subject experts. If any corrections are found valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The final answer key will then be used to prepare the Paper 2 results.

What Happens Next

After evaluating objections, the NTA will publish the final answer key and announce the Paper 2 results. Candidates are advised to:

  • Submit objections within the deadline
  • Keep a copy of their response sheet and challenge receipt
  • Regularly check the official website for updates on result dates and further counselling steps

This process ensures transparency and gives students a fair opportunity to flag genuine errors before results are finalised.
