Details That Can Be Edited Free of Cost

Candidates can correct the following details without any additional charge:

  • Parents’ or guardian’s name and address
  • Correspondence address
  • College name and location
  • Roll number
  • Qualifying degree

Details Requiring Additional Fees

As per the official notification, candidates can also modify critical details by paying an additional correction fee:

  • Name, Date of Birth, Exam City, Existing Paper: ₹500
  • Change in Gender:
    • To Female – ₹500
    • From Female to Other Gender – ₹500 (for SC/ST/PwD) and ₹1500 (for others)
  • Change in Category:
    • To SC/ST – ₹500
    • From SC/ST to Other Category – ₹500 (for Female/PwD) and ₹1500 (for others)
  • Change in Disability Status:
    • Non-PwD/Dyslexic to PwD/Dyslexic – ₹500
    • PwD/Dyslexic to Non-PwD/Dyslexic – ₹500 (for Female/SC/ST) and ₹1500 (for others)

Any other category-related modifications not specified above will attract a fee of ₹500.

About GATE 2026

The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, across multiple test centres nationwide. The application process began on August 25, 2025.
This year, the exam will be conducted for 30 test papers, and candidates are eligible to appear for one or up to two test papers only.
