New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the organising institute for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has released the provisional answer keys and candidate response sheets on the official portal. Candidates can now check the official solutions, match them with their recorded responses, and estimate their probable scores.

The provisional answer keys have been published for all subject papers along with the master question papers and individual response sheets. This allows candidates to clearly review their performance and identify any discrepancies, if any, in the official answers.

How to Download Answer Key and Response Sheet

Candidates can access the documents by logging in to the official GATE portal using their enrolment ID or registered email ID and password. Once logged in, they can download:

  • The provisional answer key
  • Their response sheet
  • The master question paper

These documents help candidates cross-check their answers and calculate tentative scores using the prescribed marking scheme.

Objection Window for Challenges

The organising institute has also opened the challenge window for the provisional answer keys. Candidates who find any errors in the answers can raise objections within the deadline mentioned on the official website by submitting supporting documents and paying the applicable fee per question.

After reviewing all challenges, subject experts will release the final answer key, which will be used to prepare the GATE 2026 results.

What’s Next for Candidates

Once the final answer key is published, the official GATE 2026 results will be announced. GATE scores are used for:

  • Admission to postgraduate programmes (MTech/PhD) at IITs, NITs, and other institutions
  • Recruitment by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website for updates on the final answer key, result date, and scorecard release.
